Simbas travel to hear Bible

Last month 100 Simba people from various communities around Bolivia attended a Bible conference.

Students and staff from a Bolivian Bible school traveled three hours to help by preparing meals and organizing children’s activities.

Just before the conference started, Felix, one of the three main Bible teachers, told the group he was unable to come. God provided an answer to prayer when a Bible teacher proficient in the Simba language arrived unannounced.

Julio, a Simba Bible teacher, and missionary Bill Mann were the other scheduled teachers. Julio preached the closing message on Sunday. He spoke for one-and-a-half hours from Ephesians on raising children.

"It was so encouraging to hear how the conference went and especially how the Lord provided for all the needs, even those which we didn’t anticipate," wrote Bill’s wife, Kathleen.

At the end of the conference Bill distributed 17 hand-wind MP3 players to Simbas who wanted to continue learning from the Bible after the conference. Julio and Arturo, two of the Simba men who are familiar with these players, held a special session on how to operate them.

"Please pray that these machines will operate well and that [those who hear the lessons] will understand and believe the various Bible truths that are presented," wrote Kathleen. "There are over 60 hours of Bible teachings on these players, a true treasure for those who are seeking."
