Students, teacher grow together
Jessica Miller has finished one year of teaching in Mexico and is looking forward to the next one.
Jessica is an associate missionary, teaching at Colegio Binimea, the school for missionaries’ children in Chihuahua, Mexico.
In May, the school held its first art show. “This art show featured the work of the junior high and high school students,” Jessica wrote.
“This month, my students also enjoyed a Skype date with their pen pals in Marietta, Georgia. On May 6, I celebrated my 23rd birthday, and my students gave me a wonderfully executed surprise party. On Saturday morning, several students from the elementary and junior high performed in a piano recital that impressed everyone in the audience.”
And then, of course, came graduation. “What a joy to be able to celebrate with students at Binimea as they graduate from high school,” Jessica wrote.
This year Jessica taught fourth and fifth grades, andnext year she will be teaching fifth and sixth, “which means I will have the same kids I had this year. I am excited to be able to get to know these kids even better and grow with them next year.
“I'll also have a couple new students, which will add to our classroom community," Jessica wrote. “This year I had ten students, and next year I will have 13. Please pray for the unity of our class as we grow together and welcome new friends.”
