'That's more important!'

Aurelia, a Tarahumara woman in her 60s had a special request for missionaries Tim and Janet Roberts when she heard they were going on a short trip.

Aurelia asked if Janet would bring her some material for a dress.

Janet said she would do it and took Aurelia’s money. Aurelia asked Janet to bring back as much material as her money would buy. The two ladies visited for a while and then it was time for Aurelia to leave.

She appeared to be in very deep thought as she prepared to leave for the three-hour walk to her home.

"It’s going to be raining soon," she began, "and I won’t get to come as often for worship. I want to learn to sing the songs when we meet and you know I can’t read them. Will you buy me a tape player instead of material and have Tim sing all of our worship songs on a cassette so I can listen when I can’t come and I can still learn them? I have a dress but not a tape player … that’s more important to me!"

"Needless to say she got her tape player, and the cassette, and has already been putting them to use," Tim wrote. "Praise God that she desires to learn to sing His praises, and that worship is becoming more important to her than the things of this life."
