Their Swahili is clicking

Encouragement is motivating.

When Rob and Amy Ellis were complimented recently by some future co-workers on the progress of their language studies in Swahili they were very encouraged. Even though it wasn’t a formal evaluation like the one they have coming up in March, the compliments on their language progress were encouraging and as a result, the Ellises have been energized to study even harder.

Discussing Scripture with their language helper has been another exciting opportunity. The Ellises write, “Although most of the discussions were in English instead of Swahili, it was very encouraging to broaden our relationship in that way.”

Rob and Amy share that their hearts were encouraged to study and discuss Acts 8-10, as well as the book of Job, with their language helper. It was exciting to see first-hand the truth that God’s Word crosses the boundaries of cultures and languages.

Please pray for the Ellises to excel as they work hard to learn the Swahili language.  Pray that God will help them through the registration process toward establishing an NTM work in Swahili at their location.
