Two Siar men believe on Christ
As two Siar men in Papua New Guinea helped missionary Chris Lujan prepare evangelistic Bible lessons, the Word of God penetrated their hearts and they realized their need of a Savior.
“Two of our Bible lesson writing helpers gave clear testimonies of faith in Christ alone as their Redeemer,” wrote Chris. “Both of these guys, Amos and Sali, are further along in the lessons because they are helping us make the lessons sound good.
"As I sat with them individually they were clearly sharing about Christ and His finished work on the cross for their sins. They both also shared and expressed that they believe that they could do nothing to receive God's free salvation; God gave it freely. Rejoice with us in the Lamb of God that died for Amos and Sali, and rose again to save them from the punishment of their sin.”
The evangelistic Bible lesson series was about Sodom and Gomorra last week and those listening faithfully to the teaching were convinced that they were no better than those men that God destroyed. On Friday Chris and his 7-year-old son Ethan acted out the account of Abraham obeying God and being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac.
“Many were amazed at the love and grace of the Lord toward man,” Chris wrote. “A perfect God loving and freely providing what a sinner needed.”
Next week the Siar people will be hearing about Jacob, Esau and the life of Joseph, and God calling Moses to lead his people to freedom.
Pray for Amos and Sali as they begin their new journey walking with Christ. Pray that the other Siars who are listening to the evangelistic Bible teaching will understand and believe God’s Word as it is presented. Pray that when they hear about the Redeemer they will trust in Him for forgiveness of sin.
