Understanding God's Word
This week missionary Dave Wright began teaching God's Word to the Mengen people of Papua New Guinea again.
"What an awesome privilege to open the Word of God to the Mengen people in their own language and in a way that they can understand the truths of God's Word," wrote Dave. "These will be life changing days for them, decisions being made for eternity. The spiritual battle has been just ratcheted up another notch."
Dave is teaching the lessons at one village to make sure the Mengens clearly understand God's message of salvation. The lessons were first presented in 2005.
Last month four Mengens volunteered to help him check the lessons for accuracy and four said they were willing to help with translation. He has been checking evangelistic lessons with them and with four men who have not previously heard the teaching. All eight men are being impacted by God's Word.
The village will meet two times a day, four days a week, and Dave hopes to finish the series by May. The Mengens have invited folks from all the neighboring villages to a big feast to kick-off the teaching.
Pray for Dave as he presents the Word of God to the Mengen people once again. Pray also that many will hear and clearly understand the saving message of God's grace.
