Update on Gwandambi

Several weeks ago, missionaries David and Shari Ogg asked for prayer for a little boy named Gwandambi. At that time, he had been airlifted to a hospital where doctors planned to do surgery on his badly-infected leg.
But first, it was crucial that Gwandambi’s blood count improve enough to allow the surgery.
The blood count numbers eventually did improve. The surgery on his infected leg was accomplished. And doctors say the procedure was successful.
Just as he has for Gwandambi’s entire hospital stay, his devoted father, Rison, a Simbari Bible teacher, has stayed by his hospital bed tenderly caring for his son.
David and Shari say, “Rison’s family was very excited when we went over to the village to tell them the good news … Gwandambi’s mother was just about ready to hike out to town to try and help her son by donating blood.” She was hoping, the Oggs say, that donating blood would hasten the surgery for her son.
“But now that the surgery is done, she is no longer worried and can stay home to take care of her other children,” they continue.
Thank you for praying for Gwandambi. Please join Rison, his family and the Oggs in praising God for this wonderful answer to prayer. And continue to pray that God will strengthen and heal Gwandambi and use his life and testimony to faithfully share the Gospel with his Simbari friends.
