Wawri returns to the Lord

Wawri, a Gaviāo believer in Brazil, was thrilled to share with missionaries Arnie and Diane Kitchener what God was doing in his life.

Though he trusted Christ as his Savior two years ago, for the last year he has strayed from the Lord, He recently attended a men’s retreat and it seemed to him that the message was directed at him. He asked forgiveness for his sins and said he felt immediately that the weight of sin and guilt was lifted.

Then he went back to his village and asked his wife and brother to forgive him for past wrongs. God renewed his burden for the lost and he has been witnessing to others in the village.

Wawri has met with Arnie to study the Bible and asked specifically for advice on how to be a good husband.
Arnie and Diane are discipling Wawri and other Gaviāo believers seeking direction on leadership development. They decided that prayer was the most effective way to know God’s direction. Thirty Gaviāos attended a mid-week prayer session.

"After prayer requests were given, we divided into five groups to pray, Diane wrote. "How precious to see and hear so many looking to God for His help and guidance. It’s a giant step in the right direction. Please pray that this humility and dependence on the Lord would continue week after week. Thank you so much for standing with the Gaviao people and with our team in prayer."

Please pray also for Wawri as he seeks to grow closer to the Lord.
