'We die to the Lord'

The death of a young believer reaps eternal fruit for God's glory.

God has opened hearts wide to hearing His Word as a direct result of the sad loss of a young believer who had just recently put his faith in Christ.

The same young people who previously were uninterested in hearing the message of the gospel are now eager to be taught. And the people of the village just can’t stop talking about what they are learning from God’s Word.

Several months back, we featured a story by missionary nurse Tobi Magill sharing her perspective on the salvation and soon-after death of a young man.

God has brought heavenly gain out of this sad earthly loss.

Chronological Bible teaching is now thriving in the little village where the boy once lived with his family. Five Bible studies have begun since the beginning of 2013.

The results are deeply encouraging. It brings encouragement to missionaries’ hearts to see God build an interest in people who have never before shown any interest in hearing His Word.

Praise God that this young man’s “short life in Christ” is being used mightily by God. Praise Him that the tragic loss of this young believer is being used powerfully to draw others to see their need for redemption and transformation. Ask God to continue to use the effects of his changed life and deathbed testimony to point others to truth for His glory.

Romans 14:8, “For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
