What comes next?

Missionary Carrie Martin views studying the Spanish language and Paraguay’s culture as a series of choices.

“Many times, I find myself culturally lost at what to do next – do I turn left or right?” she wrote. “I have opportunities to bless or offend, to speak or to listen, to watch and to be watched.”

Last week Carrie had her first language evaluation and now knows the areas of language she needs to focus on. She will begin this week using the custom-made software program, CLAware. “This program enables me to store all my observations, both audio and photos, as well as quickly find the files later,” Carrie wrote.

Pray that Carrie continues to observe her surroundings and learn the culture and language of Paraguay. Pray also that she remains diligent in her studies and uses her time wisely.

“My goal is to purposefully study Spanish for at least 45 hours each week,” wrote Carrie.
