"Why don't you follow our religion?"

Masalu was the first in his Landuma village in Guinea to trust Christ when the missionaries presented the Gospel in 1999.

At that time Masalu had one young son, Bagar. He now has 10 children and they have had the unique opportunity to hear about the Lord at an early age.

Though Masalu was greatly persecuted by the leaders of the traditional religion when he trusted Christ, his zeal to teach his wives, children and other Landumas continues.

His older boys, Bagar and Bunyamin, have trusted Christ as their Savior and are not shy about telling their friends, who adhere to the local traditional religion, about Jesus.

Some of their classmates have ridiculed the boys, asking, "Why don't you follow our religion? You are supposed to follow the religion of the old ones."

"My father is a Christian and I am following his religion," Bagar replied, "just as you are following the religion of your fathers."

The teacher who follows the traditional religion is impressed by the determination of Bagar and Bunyamin to continue to testify of Jesus. He told Masalu that the boys are completely lost and there's no hope for them. Masalu was thankful and encouraged that the teacher realized that his sons are steadfast in their Christian faith.

Pray for Masalu as he continues to faithfully teach God's Word in his village. Pray too for Bagar and Bunyamin to grow in their faith and that their testimony will bear fruit.
