With God, Kaulongs are trusting

Four new churches in Kaulong villages have been started in Papua New Guinea by tribal believers in order to reach Kaulongs who have not heard God's Word.

Kaulong Bible teachers presented evangelistic Bible lessons in the villages, and as a result, 128 men, women and children testified their faith in Jesus as their Savior.

In addition to the biblical teachings, new believers are taught to read and write. This enables them to read and study God's Word on their own, making them more able to teach what they have learned to others.

Literacy school has already started in two of the villages and the students are taught entirely by Kaulong teachers. Schools are being built in the two other villages. When the leaf roof schools are completed teaching will begin.

"What an enormous task to disciple all these new babes in Christ," missionaries Doug and Shirley Laney wrote. "We and the Kaulong believers feel so overwhelmed and inadequate, but we are trusting God for the wisdom and strength to train and disciple these new Christians."

Praise God for the Kaulong believers' dedication to teaching God's Word to those who have not heard. Please pray that the new believers will grow in their faith.
