'Without a doubt'
Steven, a Baniwa believer in Brazil, came to missionary Zenilson Bezerra with a declaration of his faith in Jesus after hearing evangelistic Bible lessons.
Steven said, "Now I can say that I am saved without a doubt in my heart. You can be certain that in case we don’t ever see each other again during this life, we will see each other again in heaven."
"During the last few teaching sessions," wrote Zenilson, "he always had tears in his eyes, and last night he came to my house. His face was lit up in a new way. He said that he was present at all the teaching sessions and he felt like the eunuch that had read the scriptures, but did not understand them and needed someone to teach him."
After teaching on the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, Zenilson encouraged the Baniwas to come to him with questions so he could more clearly explain the way of Salvation. Many still did not clearly understand salvation through faith alone.
Zenilson encouraged Steven to give his testimony to the others.
"You should have seen the light in the eyes of this man," he wrote. "Continue praying for the Holy Spirit’s work in these hearts."
"Sunday many people stood up and shared how God’s Word was working in their lives during these three months of teaching, they said they desired to live differently now."
"And all of them expressed that they would like to hear the teaching again," Zenilson added.
Pray for Steven to grow in the knowledge of God and pray also that the other Baniwas will come to better understand that salvation is a gift from God.
