Field Support Internships

What would it be like to be a missionary?

What would it be like to be a missionary?

What would it be like to be a missionary?

Shadow or work alongside full-time missionaries in Papua New Guinea and see how your degree can be used in missions. Interface is a prerequisite for your internship.

Gain fresh insights into the missionary experience in one of these key ministries:

Aviation

During two weeks at the NTM Aviation hangar, you’ll follow mechanics and pilots and, on a space-available basis, jump on flights to see how aviation speeds the church-planting process.

Medical

Spend two to three weeks with doctors, nurses and physical therapists in the mission’s Medical Clinic for an up-close look at missionary medicine. You may see tropical illnesses, emergency evacuations or even diagnoses via HF radio.

Education

Your education degree and passion for missions could fit right in to the unique dynamics of a school for missionaries’ children. Work with a teacher in a school for missionaries’ children for two to three weeks and get to know students from kindergarten to Grade 12.

Information Technology

Learn what it’s like to meet the IT needs of missionaries all over Papua New Guinea in two to three weeks in the Computer Services Department. You’ll see how your computer-related education can help expand the reach of the Gospel

Business Administration

Spend two to three weeks with finance office personnel, accountants, business administrators or others in their day-to-day responsibilities at the mission’s offices in Papua New Guinea.

Maintenance

See how your experience in general maintenance, construction, HVAC, electricity, plumbing, mechanics, or as a jack-of-all-trades can fill specific needs within missions. Spend two to three weeks at one of our centers in Papua New Guinea, with the possibility of helping out in a tribal location.

Apply for an Internship

The internship takes place the two weeks following the Interface program, at an additional cost of $800.
